An incredible 3 year project led by Mereaira Hata with the Dept of Conservation and Ōmarumutu marae to restore the papakainga to a healthy state and to preserve it for future generations. The project was an extraordinary undertaking requiring working in partnership with a number of key stakeholders and allowing opportunity for whānau, schools and community to contribute to the restoration of the Ōmarumutu papakainga.
